A quick update on some things you've raised

You've been vocal lately about a handful of issues in the Hotel, and we wanted to be straight with you about where each one stands.

Bots

Let's start with the one that never fully goes away – bots. This is an ongoing fight, and it's one we're committed to for the long haul. We don't have a big announcement today, but it remains a development priority.

Lag

We had service issues a couple of weekends back that affected .COM and .COM.BR in particular. We've since found what was causing it and made changes, and things have been running more smoothly since.

Please make sure to tag us on X or the other social media platforms we have a presence on if you experience this – we are listening and getting timely reports means we're better able to mitigate the lag, especially outside of office hours.

Moderation

This is the one we know is causing a lot of frustration, so we'll be straight with you: we're not happy with where it's at currently either.

Moderation in Habbo is something we're actively working on, and we know a small minority of you have been sanctioned when you shouldn't have been. That's not the standard we want, and it's a priority for us right now.

If you think you've been sanctioned wrongly, submit a customer service ticket and we'll get it reviewed and put right as quickly as we can.

API

The API is there to help the community build cool stuff, and we want to keep it that way. To do that, it has to stay stable for everyone, so at the weekend we tightened our rate limits to protect uptime across the Hotel.

After hearing feedback from some of the developers in our community we've relaxed the limits slightly. In general, if you're making automated requests, the single most helpful thing you can do is space them out – a short pause of around a second between requests goes a long way.

We're working on a help page for developers that will provide more detailed information about the Habbo API, its usage, and rate limiting.
