Future-proofing Habbo, and moving back to browser-based gameplay

Hey Habbos!

We wanted to give you a heads-up on something really huge we've been working on quietly for a while now: we're rebuilding Habbo's Classic client with HTML5 technology.

Under the hood, this means a more stable, more modern foundation for desktop players in the long-term. On the surface, it means the Habbo you know – same rooms, same culture, same furni – just running on something built to last and accessible via modern-day internet browsers.

We've already been testing the fundamentals internally to make sure the big stuff holds up. The next step is opening things up properly: in the not too distant future we’ll be giving the entire player base the option to test the new client.

Make sure to keep an eye out for that – we’ll be announcing it here on the Habbo website.
